English translation:
Tears I used to, and still see,
Fell and still falling on cheeks
The Colors of life merged another,
For us to find it's of sadness and steel
A cry of a child, and weeps of a woman,
Are the music of time along the decades
No Happiness to follow mourning and no sadness to follow glee
For Happiness comes and goes yet sadness resides
Stories from man's illusions are born,
    Spreading happiness beyond limits
But why do I still see eyes failing
    With joy Inexistent within
Ages lost in cruel time
    Hence questions asked without answers
Sighs of man devoured by grief
And the greatest sigh is of the kindest of hearts
Therefore I fell in the valley of sorrow with tears in eyes
With a tainted heart swathed in chains

An arabic poem I wrote, I'm not really that good in writing arabic poetry, especially in formal arabic, for it's so difficult to put all together, however, I gave it a shot, and I've tried to translate it into english, however I've altered some words in the process of the translation, putting the meaning in priority, thus dropping the rhyme. I really hope you like it.

It's not about being good or professional when it comes to poetry, at least this is my opinion...Once the words that I'm reading touche my heart and really make me feel each emotion in each line and of mostly bringing a tear in my eyes, this is what I call poetry that would last...it's not easy to write something that reaches other people's hearts and souls...

dearest brother, don't stop writing, either in Arabic or English, fixed or open poetry...just let your words find their way to the paper and after that nothing matters...If you have more than one of those great poems, you could publish a bestseller poetry book, I have faith in that :)

I don't know why when I was reading your poem, the arabic version, over & over...I almost could hear Abdul7aleem 7afeth singing it!

I loved both versions...they're just amazing mashallah! :+favlove:

wow... I'm totally speechless... I've been writing and writing... yet keeping them to myself, never thinking that others might relate to or even care for them. It feels overwhelming to know that there are people who know what I'm talking about.

You know something, what got me into arabic poetry in the first place is Um-Kalthoum's song "Al-a6lal", written by Ibrahim Naji, I've bought her collection and even the DVD concerts, lol, and since then I've never stopped reading arabic poetry.

Thank you so much dear sister for the wonderful comment... really, And I'm so happy you really liked it... you really made my day :)

I hope I won't disappoint in the future...

mashallah, I told you, you're a man with high standards, therefore, you won't ever disappoint me...I might be selective when it comes to reading, yet, once something really strikes my heart, I read it, no I feel it....
